MEET John

Hi, I'm John Poole, I'm the County Board Supervisor for Paddock Lake & Northern Salem. I have served the District for 8 years & am running again this year in the April 2nd 2024 election.

I’m running for the Kenosha County Board because the 20th District needs a supervisor that will bring a fiscally conservative voice to the county board. With the election of a new County Executive, Samantha Kerkman, who is endorsing me in this election, the County Board needs supervisors that have the experience to assist the executive to craft a fiscally responsible budget that prioritizes public safety and protects taxpayers’ pocketbooks. Our district also needs a supervisor that is supportive of growth and new construction.  That’s a big way to keep taxes down is to have more houses and businesses.  As an example, Paddock Lake had a lot of residential and business growth last year and my Paddock Lake tax bill was down by over 20%!  That’s what paying attention to expenses and supporting Economic Development can do for the taxpayers!

I'm the best choice because I look out for the taxpayer.  The biggest complaint I hear is people complaining about their taxes.  Kenosha County has one of the highest median property taxes in the United States. We can control costs, to keep taxes low, while still providing quality services. The budget approval is the most important job of County Board Supervisors because the outcome determines a large portion of our property taxes each year. As an experienced accountant, I will use my knowledge to provide a fair and balanced budget each year.
